Most good chest holsters come with a wait. Mine included — a custom Kodiak is about a four-month build, because I cut and mold every one by hand for your specific gun. But I know not everybody has four months. Maybe the hunt's this fall, or you just decided you're done carrying a big revolver on your hip. So I keep a run of my most popular chest rigs built and sitting on the shelf, ready to ship in a few days instead of a few months.

Most of them are for revolvers — the big-bore wheelguns folks actually carry in the backcountry and in bear country. If that's you, this is the fast way in.

Why carry a revolver on your chest

A hip holster and a heavy revolver don't get along in the field. Sit down in a truck or a saddle, throw a pack on, and your gun's either buried under a hip belt or digging into your side. A chest rig moves it up onto your sternum — out from under the pack, off your hip, and right where your hand falls. For a .44, a .454, or anything bigger you're carrying all day, that's the difference between wearing the gun and fighting it. It's also a lot faster to reach when you actually need it.

The revolvers I keep in stock

Every one of these is the same rig as my custom work — wet-molded to the gun, cut from full-grain Wickett & Craig leather, and fully lined — just already built and ready to go.

Colt — Python & Anaconda

Ruger — Super Blackhawk, Super Redhawk Alaskan & Toklat

Ruger's big-bores are some of the most-carried guns in bear country, so they stay in stock: the Super Blackhawk, the Super Redhawk Alaskan, and the Toklat. See the in-stock Ruger chest rigs.

Smith & Wesson — 686 & 629

Taurus — Raging Hunter, Raging Bull & Model 44

Taurus gives you a lot of gun for the money, and the Raging Hunter, Raging Bull, and Model 44 all ride well on the chest. In stock and ready to ship. See the in-stock Taurus chest holsters.

Not just wheelguns — Glock & 1911

If you carry a semi-auto, I keep a couple of those in stock too — chest rigs for the Glock and the 1911.

Don't see your gun?

If your revolver or pistol isn't on the shelf, that's what the custom Kodiak Chest Holster is for — I'll build one molded to your exact gun. That's the four-month route, but it's made for you and it'll outlast the gun. You can also browse all of my leather revolver holsters to see everything I build for wheelguns.

Ready when you are

Everything here is already built, boxed, and waiting — order it today and it ships in a few days, not a few months. Browse the in-stock chest holsters and grab the one for your gun.
